Let's say that you were excited about AAPL. In 2006/2007, you purchased stock in the range of $70 to $100. Could you have used this chart to help you decide when to take profits?
Start by looking at the downward pointing arrows. In the very beginning of 2008, there are three arrows above each other.
The top arrow indicates that the little dots had moved to a position above the bars.
The middle arrow shows that the darker of the two wiggly lines had crossed beneath the lighter of the two lines.
The bottom arrow indicates the point where the color became purple.
It can be that simple! All three occurred together when AAPL was trading at about $160. Was that a good place to take profits?
September of 2008 may have also been a great place to exit. AAPL was then trading at $145.
For all of the following stocks, use the same thinking.
